Qué (quién) es mechanical advantage - definición

MEASURE OF THE FORCE AMPLIFICATION ACHIEVED BY USING A TOOL, MECHANICAL DEVICE OR MACHINE SYSTEM
Actual mechanical advantage; Ideal mechanical advantage; Mechanical Powers; Mechanical powers; Force ratio; Ideal Mechanical Advantage
  • Two meshing gears transmit rotational motion.

mechanical advantage
¦ noun the ratio of the force produced by a machine to the force applied to it.
Mechanical advantage
Mechanical advantage is a measure of the force amplification achieved by using a tool, mechanical device or machine system. The device trades off input forces against movement to obtain a desired amplification in the output force.
PRF advantage
MEASURE OF RANDOMNESS
Pseudorandom Advantage; PRP advantage; PRP-advantage; Pseudorandom-function advantage
In cryptography, the pseudorandom-function advantage (PRF advantage) of an algorithm on a pseudorandom function family is a measure of how effectively the algorithm can distinguish between a member of the family and a random oracle. Consequently, the maximum pseudorandom advantage attainable by any algorithm with a fixed amount of computational resources is a measure of how well such a function family emulates a random oracle.

Mechanical advantage

Mechanical advantage is a measure of the force amplification achieved by using a tool, mechanical device or machine system. The device trades off input forces against movement to obtain a desired amplification in the output force. The model for this is the law of the lever. Machine components designed to manage forces and movement in this way are called mechanisms. An ideal mechanism transmits power without adding to or subtracting from it. This means the ideal machine does not include a power source, is frictionless, and is constructed from rigid bodies that do not deflect or wear. The performance of a real system relative to this ideal is expressed in terms of efficiency factors that take into account departures from the ideal.
